Hello Families,
There will be a PAC Meeting on November 17th at 6:30 PM. We look forward to seeing you all there.
Happy Wednesday everyone!
Our policy for Gr 5-12 students wearing a mask while on our PCS bus is still in effect. Please remind the students in your family to ensure they have a mask with them and to wear it before boarding the bus. We do have some disposable and reusable masks available for students, but these are for occasional use, not to be taken on a regular basis.
Our parent-teacher conferences will be taking place over Zoom*, in order to meet safety guidelines and keep things on a timely schedule. Wednesday, November 18 and Thursday, November 19 are early dismissal days, followed by parent-teacher conferences in the afternoon/early evening. We love to be able to connect with you about your child’s learning and are planning for this time to be able to do so again.
In the next day or two, Mrs. Fowler will be emailing you an appointment time(s), as well as the link(s) and meeting IDs to connect with us through Zoom^. If the time provided does not work for you, please let her know and we will reschedule your time. We have scheduled a 5 minute buffer to help give time for those who will need a few minutes to adjust to the different method of meeting with your child(ren)’s teacher.
For all of our students, we prefer this is a time to speak with the parent(s) on their own, so students are not expected to be present.
K-Gr 6: At your scheduled time, you will click on the link for your child’s teacher. You will first enter a ‘waiting room’ and when the teacher is ready, they will move you into the main ‘room’ where you will be able to speak with them.
Gr 7-12: We are using the Zoom session as an opportunity for parents to be able to speak with more than one teacher, if you desire. At your scheduled time, you will click on the link for the high school teachers. You will enter a main ‘room’ where you will speak with Mrs. Atherton and be able to request to speak with the teachers of your choice. You will then be moved into a side ‘room’ with either your child’s homeroom teacher, or the teachers of your choice.
*If you are unable to connect with us with Zoom, please reply to this message and we will schedule an alternate time for you to come meet with us in person.
^ How to join a Zoom meeting:
A. Click on the link provided OR
B. Join with the meeting ID
1. Go to http://www.zoom.us
2. Click "Join a Meeting"
3. Type in the Meeting ID
4. Click Join
Thank you for trying something new with us. Please call or email us if you have any questions!
Regards,
Mrs. Atherton

Hello everyone,
I hope you enjoy the October issue of the PCS newspaper!
~Media Class
Hello! Can you believe October is almost over? It’s speeding by at school. Students are busy learning and we are seeing progress in their skills!
Here are a few updates and events in November:
Every Tuesday – Pastor D will be collecting funds from students to support Kalpana, our sponsored student who lives in India
Parent Committee Firewood – Unfortunately we were not able to get the wood out of the bush for our firewood fundraiser for this fall, so it will be delayed until next year.
Every Thursday – Vending machine sales are available courtesy of Grad Class 2021. They have also sold some firewood and have a Purdy’s chocolate fundraiser currently happening. Let someone know if you’d like a catalogue!
POW (Point of Worship) – Friday Nov 6 at 7 pm
Remembrance Day (No School) – Wednesday Nov 11
Early Dismissal & Parent/Teacher Interviews – Wed & Thurs Nov 18 & 19
Appointments will be primarily by Zoom. If this does not work for you, we will make alternate arrangements.
Picture Retakes – Friday Nov 20
Non-Instructional Day – Friday Nov 27
Cheers to all those looking forward to the snow 😀
Just to let you know that the Peace Christian School will be closed on
Friday Oct 23, 2020. It is a Non Instructional Day.
Remember Tuesday Oct 27, 2020 is PICTURE DAY !
Enjoy your long weekend.

Hello Parents,
Happy thankful Thursday to you! Thankfulness is one item we are focusing on this school year with our students and this weekend is an especially good time to focus on everything we have to be grateful for in life. Later today or tomorrow, look at our social media accounts (also shown on our website) to see a thankfulness project done by our house teams.
Illness/Coughing: if your student has a key symptom from our Covid-19 list (like coughing), they need to stay home. The illness can be monitored for 24 hours, but if it does not improve, please call 8-1-1 (or 1-844-654-7811) and speak to a health care professional. They will help you determine next steps. Attached is a flow chart to help you know what decisions to make. We know it is difficult and not every situation has clear answers so an extra thank you for doing your best to help keep everyone healthy and safe. Please note that we also have basic cloth masks for any student who needs one so please have them ask a teacher for one if desired.
No School:
– Monday, Oct 12: enjoy Thanksgiving!
– Friday, Oct 23: a Non-Instructional Day
Picture Day:
– Tuesday, Oct 27
May you enjoy some peace and relaxation this long weekend!
Mrs. Atherton
It is a sad day!
At this time, we do not have enough volunteers to run these programs so it is with heavy hearts that we will have to cancel them.
Students, staff and especially parents LOVE hot lunch meals! It’s one less day we have to pack lunches. It has become a cherished day!
Kids also look forward to receiving their milk on milk days, to having that special treat delivered to them at lunch.
This is our last call for help!
We are willing to reassess our decision, if enough people step up right away. The Parent Committee would love nothing more than to run these programs so please please please call Mrs. Siller @ 250-788-2044, if you are able to help or would like more info.
Otherwise, these programs will be greatly missed!!
Need ASAP:
3 hot lunch coordinators
5 hot lunch assistants
2 milk program assistants
For everyone who already signed up to help – we appreciate you!
