Monday, Nov. 13 – Remembrance Day Observation – No School

· Please note that this is different than what has been on the school calendar.

· We try to match the public school as much as possible with our calendar. Due to the fact that the public school’s Remembrance Day Observation day is Monday, rather than Friday, we have changed our date to match theirs.

Thursday, Nov. 9 – After School Teacher Help at the Library

· We will be offering extra help for students at the library again this year beginning Nov. 9.

Wednesday, Nov. 22 – Hot Lunch

· Our first hot lunch this year is on Nov. 22.

Friday, Nov. 24 – P.O.W. (Point of Worship) – 7:00 pm @ PCS Chapel

· Music by the Junior Band

· Mimes by the Drama Class

· Everyone is welcome

Monday, Nov. 27 – No public school buses

· The shuttle bus will run as usual, but there will be no public school buses.

Wednesday and Thursday – November 29 & 30 – Early Dismissal – school will be dismissed @ 1:30PM.

· PCS shuttle bus will be running 1 hour earlier in the afternoon to make the connection with the public school buses. PCS shuttle bus students who do not ride the public school buses must be picked up at the high school by 1:55PM. If your child does not ride the PCS shuttle bus please pick them up at PCS at 1:30PM.

Grades 6-12 parent teacher interviews are cancelled for today October 25. They will take place tomorrow, October 26. If you are unable to make them please contact the office to make an appointment.  We apologize for any inconvenience.

Dear PCS Families/Staff/Board,

Reminders:

1) FIREWOOD FUNDRAISER: 9:00AM Sunday, October 15. ***If you have a portable gas wood splitter please bring it with you. We need lots of volunteers at this fundraiser…bucking (chainsaws and their operators), splitting, loading. It is a busy but fun day for families to work together. Thank you for your help! Thank you to the Sawchuk family for their generous donation of the wood. See attached map with specific directions to the work site.

2) Keep collecting Canadian Tire money – can be turned in to the school any time.

New Information:

BOTTLE FUNDRAISER: Each family is asked between NOW and the end of April to bring in to the school the money from taking in bags of bottles to the recycling Depot. We are asking each student to donate the money from 2 large bags of bottles – up to a max of 4 bags per family. Last year we raised $1013.75. With 100% participation we could double that this year!! J

Firewood Fundraiser has been set for October 15.

To place orders call the school at 250-788-2044.

Wood is cut to 16inches and is split and delivered in 2 cord dump truck loads. (Not stacked). Cost per dump truck load is $400.

We would like to sell 20-24 cords.

Update on Oct 1st Fun Fair (3-6PM):

Look for a note coming home soon (or a “verbal note” from your older grade student) from their classroom providing the item that your child has been asked to bring to the Fun Fair for their food or game booth. As well, they will be assigned a certain time in which they are scheduled to help at one of their booths.

Reminder: Tickets will be sold at the door for $0.25 a ticket.

The classroom game and food booths will be raising money for the “GYM FLOOR FUND”.

There will also be a table of donated craft items/gifts that will be sold to help raise money for the gym floor. As a special outreach project 50% of the proceeds from the craft sales will go to purchase “Education Kits” for children in Cambodia through ADRA (Adventist Disaster Relief Agency). **If you have homemade craft items you would like to donate for this event, please drop off at the school anytime from now until the Fun Fair.
