Buses are not running so no school for one more day. Hopefully we will see you all on Tuesday.
Fri No School
There will not be busses so no school for another day. Stay safe out there and see you next week!
No School Today (Thurs)
Hi Families,
The busses are cancelled for safety reasons because of the weather so school is closed today. Students are encouraged to take some time to read books, practice math facts, work on Duolingo, RAZ Kids, Mathletics and homework as appropriate.
Hoping everyone is able to stay warm over this cold spell.
Mrs. Atherton
Cold Temperatures
Hi Families,
As a reminder to everyone and knowledge for newer families, if Standard Bus is not running due to bad weather (too cold, bad roads or too much snow), PCS doesn’t have school. Enough students rely on bussing to attend that few students come and it is difficult to accomplish much learning with those at school.
Busses are often cancelled if the temperature or wind chill temperature is -35C or colder. As the forecasts are cold for the next few days, please make note if there is school or not. A notice is typically posted by 6:30 am. We will communicate it via email and social media (which also shows on our website). You can also find bus info on the top right of SD59 webpage or call the bus info line at 250-782-1061.
If you have a younger elementary student and you need to work and do not have child care for the day, please let your classroom teacher know and we will do our best to work with you on a plan.
This is also a good time to note that winter gear is always needed when riding a bus. This includes coats, toques, mitts/gloves. Please prepare your child for the unexpected during winter driving conditions.
Happy cold bug killing weather 🙂

Bake Sale Success!
Dear PCS Families & Friends,
A big thank you to everyone who donated baked goods for last night’s bake sale at the Christmas Concert. It was a big success! With your contributions we raised $512.75. We really appreciate all your generous support of PCS.
We want to extend a special thank you to Jennifer Parish and her son Joshua Brocke for volunteering their time to run the bake sale last night as well. They did a great job!
If you donated baked goods, please remember to pick up your containers today.
Also thank you to Mrs. Balane, the grade 7-9 students and all the other volunteers who helped with the assembling of the reindeer candy canes that were handed out for all to enjoy.

Friendly reminder upcoming bake sale.
Dear: Families, Parents & Guardians
As we approach the holiday season, we’re giving a friendly reminder that we’ll be hosting a festive bake sale on the evening of December 20th at the school – treats will be ready to purchase after the Christmas concert.
If you’re able to, we kindly ask that you consider baking some delicious treats to contribute to the bake sale. Your generosity and support are greatly appreciated, and every contribution, big or small, will make a difference.
We warmly invite all family members who are able to donate their time and goodies to join us in this heartwarming event – please drop goodies off in the morning of the 20th to the school.
Together, let’s spread joy and holiday cheer while raising funds for PCS. Your participation will help make this event a sweet success!
Thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity. We look forward to seeing you at concert and bake sale, and we’re grateful for your support.
Warm regards,
Rebecca
