Friday Flash

Happy Friday, families!
I’m not sure about you but I feel like it should not yet be time for the Christmas season. Perhaps it’s partly due to the lack of whiteness outside. We are starting to create festivity at school and are looking forward to celebrating Jesus’ birth more this season.
Blessings,
Kristin Atherton

This Coming Week

  • Mon Nov 27 – PCS has school but there are no SD#59 busses (shuttle bus will still run)
  • Wed & Thu Nov 29 & 30 – Parent teacher conferences after school
  • Tue Nov 28 – Picture retakes due back to PCS

Looking Ahead

  • Dec 20 – Christmas program in the evening
  • Dec 21 – Noon dismissal. Last day of school before break.

To Do

  • Ask your child what they are practicing for the Christmas program

Dear Families,
As we remember and honour our service people and veterans, may we be continually grateful for the freedom we have in our country. Enjoy the extra day off this weekend!
Mrs. Atherton

This Coming Week

  • Nov 13 – No School for Remembrance Day
  • Nov 14 – Picture Retakes (bring back proofs)
  • Nov 15 & 16 – Early dismissal at 1:30 pm (bus will be outside of Windrem 1 hour earlier in the afternoon)

  • Nov 27 – PCS has school but there are no SD#59 busses (shuttle bus will still run)

Good to Know

  • Report cards went home this week. Let us know if you didn’t see the one for your child. For K-Gr 9, "Proficient" is our goal for all students in all subjects. Occasionally a student will be "Extending" because they have shown learning beyond the grade requirements. Often a student will be "Developing" because they still have areas of the topic to work on. "Emerging" means they are starting to learn the information, but may need more support to move ahead. Please see the links below for more information or reach out and ask the teacher.
  • Handout
  • More info

Shout Outs

  • To the amazing curling club who volunteered their time so our Gr 4-8 students could try a different skill. There was cheering and laughing that occurred.
  • To the families who made donations in September: Malabanan, Santos, Gamboa, McMahon.

Electronic Hot Lunch Order Forms

There is a new way to order hot lunch this school year. Instead of using paper forms we are excited to start using electronic order forms. This will tally orders for us, saving our volunteers a lot of time 🙂

Please access the following link to place your hot lunch order for November/December. All orders need to be completed by October 31, 2023.

Here is the link: https://tally.so/r/wzM0dR

In addition, there is a paper note coming home to explain the Province of BC’s new initiative: theFeeding Futures fund.

Also, watch for electronic milk order forms to be emailed out in the next week.

Jr. Football Tournament

We are very excited about the upcoming CASA Jr. Flag Football Tournament this weekend. This is just a reminder that we are planning to leave Thursday Morning at 5:30 a.m. and want to remind participants that they need to be at PCS before 5:30 a.m. to allow time for loading the bus. Thank you for your continued support of our program.
