No Classes Today

Good morning, parents. Due to road conditions, there will not be any busses today. Because the majority of our students use bussing to access school, PCS policy is that there are not in-person classes when the busses aren’t running.

K-Gr 4 students: If childcare today is difficult, please let your homeroom teacher know and we will do our best to accommodate your children at school.

Elementary families: We will send you an outline of recommended learning activities for today.

Gr 7-12 families: Work assigned for today will be emailed to students directly. Please have them check their emails and work on their assignments for each class today.

We are sorry for the inconvenience and hope to see everyone back tomorrow!

Upcoming Events: Scholastic Book Fair & Christmas Minis

Hello Parents and Families,

We have two upcoming events that we are excited to share with you!

Scholastic Book Fair

Our very first Scholastic Book Fair is happening next week from Wednesday, November 12th – Friday, November 14th!

At the Scholastic Book Fair, students will have an opportunity to browse and shop through a selection of Scholastic books, posters, and bookmarks with their class during an arranged shopping time. If a new treasure catches their eye, students can purchase and take it home that day. Please note that we are able to accept e-transfers (office) as a method of payment.

We would also like to invite parents and families to join us on Wednesday, November 12th from 2:30-6:00pm for our Family Event. This is the perfect time to do some browsing and shopping of your own! Plus, every family who stops by our Family Event can enter their name in the door prize to win FREE BOOKS for their family and for their child’s classroom!

In the meantime, please browse the flyer coming home today with students (K-8) to see some of the books that will be available next week!

Hello Families,

The weeks roll along and we’re well into the groove of learning. I enjoy walking around school and seeing the various learning activities taking place, from preschool through Gr 12. It’s fun to see new skills being learned and knowledge gained.

As we go into the weekend, I encourage you to spend time in nature enjoying God’s creation with no snow for this last short while. I know at least a few who are wishing the snow upon us and others of us don’t mind if it delays awhile. Whatever your perspective, enjoy your weekend and the fall leaves!

Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony."

Raising Digitally Responsible Youth

"Our current world climate is constantly connected to technology. What do we need to know as parents/caregivers to protect our children and teach them responsible and appropriate uses of technology? The parameters of rules and expectations that we put in place at home will undoubtedly guide our children’s sense of digital responsibility…..We want to prepare our children for their tech-infused futures and walk down this digital journey alongside them by staying informed.” Attached is a resource in order to help you do this.

Shout Outs

  • To Lily, Micah, Liam Bu, and John who stood out in their enthusiastic participation in the Terry Fox Run!

Verse of the Week

Philippians 4:6-7

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

This verse reminds us that we can have peace through whatever life throws at us—even in the midst of difficult situations, God will be with us.

This verse reminds us to pause and take time to renew and find strength in hope. It seemed extra applicable after our Terry Fox Fun today!
