All other students will be taken by bus to the Rec Centre. Please confirm to our text number (2043) the plan for your student from there.

School Has Started!

Hello Families,

Welcome to a new school year and the first day under our belts! We hope everyone had a great first day. We strive to be a learning and growing school so let us know if you have a question or concern. We are praying for all our PCS students and their families and we aim to be a blessing to your family this school year.

We’re trying a new format for helping our families stay up-to-date with what’s happening at PCS. Let us know how it works for you!

All the best for day 2!

It’s Tomorrow!

Hello Families,

Tomorrow is the day we’ve been looking forward to: seeing all of you! We ask that students and parents please come out between 10 am and 4 pm (for an hour or so) to go over paperwork, get class schedules, meet teachers, know where assigned lockers are, etc. All great things to help the transition back into school next week.

All our staff are in place and we are excited for our team. Mrs. Linda Berezowski will be assisting with the paperwork at registration. She has returned to Chetwynd and we are happy to have her back on our team as our secretary.

We are looking forward to a great school year and happy that you are a part of our school community! We will see you soon 🙂

Mrs. Atherton

Welcome!

Hello Families,

Welcome to the 2023/24 school year! Our teachers are back from a fabulous teacher’s convention which inspired and taught us for another great year at PCS. Now we are busy putting classrooms back together and preparing curriculum plans for the year.

Our orientation day is next Thursday, August 31 from 10 am to 4 pm*. We ask for all families (parents and students) to come for about an hour during this time to meet our teachers, verify information, pick lockers, receive schedules, learn about extra curricular options, sign up for fundraisers and more.

Our first regular day of classes will be Tuesday, September 5. All students need a personal water bottle and non-marking indoor shoes. Additional supplies required for Gr 7-12 are noted here.

We are looking forward to having everyone back soon!

Kristin Atherton
Principal

*If it is absolutely not possible to attend due to work schedules, we appreciate students coming with another adult. And if that is not possible, please let us know and we will arrange to get you everything needed at a different time.

Official Welcome

Hello Families,

Summer is in full swing but preparations for next year continue despite the quiet building 🙂

This summer, two families are joining our community and I wanted to let you know a bit about them. We are excited to have these teachers joining our staff and the experience and knowledge they will bring to our classrooms.

Aeyra Braund (Mrs. Braund) will be teaching our K/Gr 1 students. She is moving here from Alberta with her husband, where she has lived for the past seven years. Here is a little about her:
"At home I like organizing. In warmer times, I like hikes and visiting places. In winter time, I like to skate, ski and enjoy the warmth of my bed. I also like to sing, play sports, and go to church."

Charity Nainggolan (Mrs. N) will be teaching our Gr 4-6 classroom. She is moving here from southern BC with her husband and three children. Here is a little about her:
"I am a nature lover. I like hiking and observing wildlife with my family. I’m interested in baking, enjoy making friends and farmer’s markets!"

If you see them in town during the summer or meet them at Orientation Day, I encourage you to help them feel welcome to our community 🙂

We do have two positions currently open: Receptionist and Educational Assistant. Please let us know if you’re interested or pass this info along to someone who would be a good fit. More info is here.

Warmly,
Mrs. Atherton
